EARLY POLAROIDS

Jensen-Nagle began his photographic career experimenting with expired SX-70 Polaroid film, drawn to its unpredictable nature, softened colours and dreamlike quality. The imperfections of the medium became an essential part of his early artistic expression, transforming familiar places into atmospheric images that feel suspended somewhere between memory and reality.

Travelling through Europe with a collection of Polaroid cameras, Jensen-Nagle photographed iconic landmarks, historic architecture and bustling public spaces. Through faded tones, softened details and an almost painterly aesthetic, these familiar destinations take on a nostalgic quality, capturing not simply the places themselves, but the feelings and memories they evoke.

These early photographs established the foundation of Jensen-Nagle’s distinctive visual language and his enduring interest in the relationship between photography, memory and emotion. Although his techniques and equipment have evolved, the desire to create images that transcend documentation and preserve the feeling of a moment remains at the heart of his work.
