BEACH ELEMENTS

In a departure from his dreamy, large-scale and immersive beachscapes, Jensen-Nagle’s latest series, Beach Elements, deconstructs his typical sun-soaked scenes and focuses on individual elements that often make up his colorful compositions.

The series is comprised of three main collections. Playfully patterned beach umbrellas are photographed from an aerial perspective, while multicolored beach huts, known as bathing boxes are individually photographed along Brighton Beach in Melbourne, Australia.  All elements are digitally removed from their environment and placed against white backgrounds for a brighter, more graphic direction.

This series also includes a collection of modern sculptures featuring silhouettes of beach goers and beach accessories originally photographed by the artist and reimagined into standing metal fabrications.
