CHERRY BLOSSOMS

In his new Cherry Blossoms series, Jensen-Nagle continues the exploration of memory, nostalgia and the fleeting nature of time. Drawn to places and experiences that invite us to pause and see the world differently, he turns his attention to the brief transformation of familiar landscapes each spring, when blossoming trees create an almost dreamlike atmosphere.

For a few short weeks, branches become clouds of pale colour, individual blossoms dissolve into fields of texture, and ordinary spaces take on an extraordinary beauty. Moving between photography and painterly abstraction, Jensen-Nagle captures not simply the blossoms themselves, but the emotion and atmosphere of a moment that cannot last.

Through soft colour, delicate forms and abstract compositions, Cherry Blossoms reflects a recurring theme throughout his work: our relationship with place, memory and time, and the ability of a photograph to preserve the feeling of a fleeting moment.
